Recurrence

This is the 2nd time that my cancer recurred. I was told that I am cancer free. After reading about recurrence, I’ve asked myself am I really cancer free?

I originally was diagnosed with breast cancer on the right side of my breast in 2021. I went through my first diagnosis my hair returned and I was happy. But in 2024, a nodule was found on the right side of my right lung. I lost my hair again, skin color changed, and I was a mental wreck.

More chemo, CT scans blood test and now I am cancer free am I really this time around. I eat differently, exercise more, rest more, try to live stress-free and pray to God every day that it won’t return. The first CT scan I received after I was diagnosed as cancer-free returned with no evidence of cancer. The nodule was removed and I was diagnosed as being cancer free. I have followed many platforms regarding the recurrence of cancer.

Thus far I’m still cancer free. I still become concerned when I have a new scan.

Thank you sincerely for reading my story.

  1. Thank you for sharing your experience. The thought and the reality of recurrence keeps many of our community members on edge. I hope you remain cancer-free this time, It's important to keep monitoring for recurrence, despite scanxiety (anxiety about upcoming scans). According to the article, the new lifestyle that you've adopted should increase your chance to stay cancer-free. All the best, Kathy Team member)
