Breast Cancer Awareness Month: What do others need to know about side effects?

Breast Cancer Awareness Month can feel overwhelming when you live with metastatic breast cancer. What is one truth about cancer side effects or symptoms that you wish more people understood overall, but specifically during Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Share and connect with the community!

  1. Just because I'm usually ok doesn't mean I'm always ok.

    1. So true. And it is difficult to always appear upbeat and positive for the benefit of others. Are you coping with friends or family who do not understand what you are going through? All the best, Kathy (Team member)

  2. For cancer survivors; follow your intuition. Listen to your gut. I had a feeling that I needed a PET Scan. Thank goodness my Oncologist agreed. My breast cancer returned and metastasized to my bones extensively. Please don't ignore symptoms

    1. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes your intuition picks up on things before your oncologist does. All the best, Kathy (Team member)

  3. I wish more people understood that not all survivors and thrivers are fond of pink. We want to know someone has donated to legit causes working towards cures or providing relief in some form to cancer patients, in our honor.

  4. Make sure you communicate with your oncologist about symptoms. Don't ignore even little changes like headaches, pain that doesn't go away or a change in sleep or fatigue.

    1. Thanks for sharing this tip. It's important not to let new symptoms slide, even if they seem like nothing. Thanks for being part of the community. All the best, Kathy (Team member)
