My initial diagnosis

I had stage 4 breast cancer. I had a mastectomy on December 5, 2023. There were 5 confirmed cancers: 4 in my breast and 2 in my lymph nodes. My surgeon and my oncology doctors decided against a port.

They decided on 25 sessions of radiation beginning in January. The following 15 treatments were causing headaches, nausea, and extreme fatigue. Medication helped. But on January 24, I was unconscious and was in the hospital for 10 days until I was released. I then completed 10 more radiation treatments.

October 13 will be a two-year mark for my biopsy. With my faith in God and never-ending prayers, I'm maintaining my life on oral chemo. My team of doctors is amazing. My emotions were rough, as my husband died on September 3, 2022, from ALS.
