We’d love to hear from those of you living with advanced breast cancer—what or who are you grateful for? How does taking a moment to focus on gratitude or practice mindfulness help you through your journey?
It’s a very nice subject that is proposed there. Thank you.😀
Since my stage 4 diagnosis I have been trying to see the benefits that my illness brings me, it's not easy every day!!! but this is what I like:
I was able to retire early and I'm so happy to wake up every morning next to my husband, stress-free, and enjoy my day with him.
I am grateful to be able to tend a small vegetable garden when my breath allows me.
On days without pain and when morale is good, I am grateful to be able to walk in nature and enjoy the mountains or the forest.
I greatly appreciate living in accordance with the seasons and seeing the light of day because I worked for almost 40 years in windowless premises not knowing what the weather was like after my work day.
I am also very grateful to be able to say no to certain relationships, meetings or activities on the grounds that I am not well; because I definitely want to enjoy my free time as I wish, without constraints (there are already enough obligations with treatments and various hospital appointments!)
There you have it, despite the sometimes complicated journey over the last 2 years, I thank God for all the beautiful things he is currently offering me and I try to find joy in it despite everything.

Hi . Thanks for sharing some amazing thoughts. It is clear that nature and just enjoying time outdoors brings you a lot of joy and solace. As discussed in this article from our editorial team, there is actual research backing up the benefits of time in nature: https://advancedbreastcancer.net/clinical/nature-research. Of course, sorry for what it took to get there, but glad you escaped the windowless job site. Best, Richard (Team Member)

Hi . That is a comprehensive and, yet, concise list. The ability to find blessings all around is a gift that not everyone has. Thanks for sharing. Best, Richard (Team Member)

I will help until I'm unable to. I just wish there was more access in the community I live in.

it warms my heart to read your words. The world and your community are better because of you. However, I'm curious to know more about the type of access you would like to see. Sending you strength and support! - Beth (Team Member)
