Painful tumor.

I'm curious to know if anyone else has pain at the tumor site.I just began my third cycle of Ibrance and also take Anastrazole.I was wondering if these medications cause pain or is it the cancer.

  1. Hi there, Doria!

I think it depends on where the tumor site is. Every body is different, also. Definitely bring it up when you discuss your labs with your team before your next cycle of Ibrance if it keeps happening.

Sending you love from the rainy PNW!

    1. I have a stage 4 tumor the size of a softball in my pelvis, and it is EXREMELY painful. I'm not sure if I've ever been told that the meds we take can cause pain at the tumor site. When I began exemestane, it didn't seem to cause any extra pain, but I did have the other side effects, such as overall joint pain. I will begin Ibrance soon and hope the side effects are minimal (fingers crossed!)

      1. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing such pain. Have you discussed this with your doctors? We must remember that everyone is different, meaning we can all react to the meds/treatments differently. When you begin Ibrance, if you start to experience new symptoms or side effects, please be sure to speak with your doctors as soon as possible. It's always a good idea to rule out anything severe or possible underlying causes. I thought this article about Ibrance might be helpful to you and any others who are reading through. https://advancedbreastcancer.net/treatment/ibrance-efficacy-side-effects
I hope you get some relief from the pain and discomfort soon and I'm sending you positive thoughts and vibes for the start of Ibrance. If you feel up to it, please keep us posted on how you're doing. Hope to hear from you soon. Sending support every step of the way. -Beth (Team Member)
