Does anyone have experience taking a combination of Kisqali/Ribociclib with Letrozole?

Looking to connect with other community members taking this same combination of Kisqali (Ribociclib) and Letrozole.

I start the 24th box this week, I am still on the 600 mg dose. I sometimes find myself needing to take walks to keep my joints moving and as I near the end of the cycles I am sometimes very tired.

How long have you been on Kisqali? Are you experiencing any side effects?

  1. I have been on both for 6 months. I have not had those symptoms. I took the Xgeva shot last month. For several days after both arms hurt. Like my wrists to my elbows. Have you developed more lesions on the treatment you are on?

    1. Hi , It's nice to hear from someone else on the same combination of treatment. I hope you are doing well, I am sorry about the pain you are having in your arms. I am sure that is uncomfortable. I haven't experienced that myself but I am also not getting the Xgeva injection. From what I have read online that is for bones. I would definitely mention that to my oncologist, maybe they have a solution. If you don't mind me asking did you have metastases to your bones? My mets were to the lung.

But to answer you question, no, luckily I have not had progression on Kisqali and Letrozole. This is my first line of treatment for MBC. Is this your first line of treatment as well?

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

      1. I’m newly diagnosed lobular Mets to bladder. Oncologist also suspects its in GI tract. No biopsy to support that though. I was given Faslodex and Ibrance. 9 days into Ibrance liver enzymes went up to 10x normal. Oncologist discontinued Ibrance and will try Kisqali in 3 weeks. I’m really sad that I’ve already failed Ibrance so quickly into it.

        1. Hi . I am sorry to hear that you had a negative reaction to Ibrance. But it is good to hear that you and your oncologist recognized the problem that it was causing and were able to get you off of it so quickly. You most definitely didn't fail Ibrabce! Everyone reacts to treatments differently so I'll keep my fingers crossed that Kisquali will give you better results! I hope other community members will chime in to share their experiences as well. Warmly, Patty (Team Member)

        2. Hi , I agree with you definitely didn't fail Ibrance, it just wasn't the right fit in this drug family. Three weeks will go by fast, I hope you can get some rest and focus on yourself while you wait to get started. This will at least give your body time get some strength back to start strong with Kisqali. When you are feeling up for it please let us know how you are feeling. Feel free to send me a chat.
