I Feel Guilty

I'm not sure if "guilt" for still being here is the right word I would use. I feel guilty because I get jealous of people that get to ring the bell. I would love to do that! It's a little overwhelming when they say," treatment for the rest of your life". I still get depressed about these things when I see commercials on TV of people ringing the bell. I'm happy for them but, jealous at the same time

  1. , the feelings you have about people ringing the bell are completely valid and make so much sense. It can be overwhelming to hear "rest of your life" and depressing to see all the other people who get to ring the bell. My therapist has really helped me understand and accept that two feelings can be true at the same time -- which it sounds like you already have a good grasp on (being happy for them and sad or jealous for yourself). Thanks so much for being open and sharing with the community here. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. I'm sorry you feel this way.
For me.... I don't mind doing treatment for the rest of my life.... As long as it's working and keeping my cancer "asleep" I'm happy with that. Cause unfortunately there are alot of folks who have rung said bell and there cancer has returned 😢

      1. This is true. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for every day I have. It's just hard sometimes.
