Will you share your experience with targeted therapies?

We know that each individual responds to treatment differently, but we also know that having a sense of what to possibly expect when entering a new treatment plan is incredibly helpful and comforting to you.

So, we are asking the AdvancedBreastCancer.net community, please share your experiences with us. What targeted therapies have been a part of YOUR treatment plan, and what has been your experience?

  1. This article you posted here was so informative, Patty! I had no idea the medication I was on was meant to target my specific breast cancer.

I am currently on Ibrance! I have been for almost two years, which is absolutely incredible. We also decided to attack at all fronts and just get rid of my ovaries, so my cancer didn’t have anything to feed off of estrogen-wise. So far, this treatment plan has worked for me, and I hope it continues to do so for a long time!

    1. I have been on Letrolzole since May 7, 22, with a good response. I started Ibrance in October, came off after being in the hospital for almost a week, due to lack of home care. Blood tests show I may restart Ibrance. I am also now receiving at home physical therapy. I have asked my psychiatrist for higher dosage of generic Lexapro to improve energy, and an effective sleeping aid. Jo-Ann

      1. That sounds like a great plan Jo-Ann! I hope that you are able to stay on top of your at-home care this time, and that the Ibrance works for ya! ❤️

    2. I’m on Ibrance, Letrozole, Xgeva. After first 3 months I had good scan results. Reduction or disappearance of lymph nodes, reduction in some bone mets, lung mets. Waiting for my next scan in early Feb. We shall see….(fingers crossed).

      1. I'm so glad you've had some good scan results with your current treatment. We'll keep our fingers crossed that your next scan in February has similar results. Please, if you're comfortable, keep us posted. We're here for you! We appreciate you sharing and being a part of our community here. Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
