Double Mastectomy

I had a double mastectomy in April 2020. I was diagnosed July 2019. Right breast had cancer and traveled to my right lymph nodes. I was scared. I started out with 16 chemos, lost my hair down to my waist after the 1st chemo then I had my double mastectomy and while doing the biopsy on right lymph nodes I coded on table once they brought me back to life I had to have 33 radiation treatments I drove myself to all 33 treatments. I have no children. My parents passed over 15 years ago my husband passed in 2016. It was a long journey and yes I was scared too.

My journey

cancer-free. I now take a non-hormonal pill daily for the next 5 years and I have to continue my monthly labwork and 3-4 month pet scans to see my insides. Just want you to know it is scary because we don’t know. But if I did it you can do it. I want you to have faith and be a believer and believe you are not alone. I was the one for the double mastectomy as I didn’t want to go through all this again if by chance cancer decided to get to my left & breast. So I had them both removed. And at this time I have not had reconstructive surgery as I’m not ready to have any more surgery or pain right now. You can do this.
