Bob Holden

We are extremely saddened to say that on Friday, February 28, 2020, Robert Holden passed away. He was a valued member of the AdvancedBreastCancer.net community and an incredible advocate for male metastatic breast cancer awareness and research. We are so honored that Bob and his wife Linda shared their experience with our community. Bob will be deeply missed.

”Lung Bob was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in January 2003. In 2001, Bob went to the doctor because he had felt a lump in his breast. The doctor said it was probably nothing, but did refer him to another doctor. The second Doctor diagnosed him with gynecomastia. Bob was relieved that it wasn’t anything serious. In 2002 Bob’s clavicle fractured for no apparent reason. He had surgery and the biopsy came back benign. Then in January 2003 Bob’s clavicle fractured for a second time. So on his 41st birthday he had surgery again. This time the pathology report came back that he had cancer but it was not the primary site. The diagnosis was male breast cancer that had metastasized to his bone. Bob has been on and off treatments for advanced breast cancer since his diagnosis. He is currently on treatment. Bob likes to advocate and educate the public on male & metastatic breast cancer.
